Who we are
Lift The Block is a community-centered nonprofit dedicated to uplifting children, women, and families across Detroit. Our mission is rooted in compassion, dignity, and the belief that every household deserves access to essential resources and opportunities. We serve as trusted support for families facing everyday challenges, offering programs designed to meet immediate needs while creating pathways for long-term stability.
We provide year-round services including meals-on-wheels, diaper drives, backpack and school uniform giveaways and holiday outreach programs. Each initiative is built around one core promise: to stand with families when they need it most.
What began as a simple desire to help has grown into a movement focused on strengthening neighborhoods—block by block. We collaborate with community partners, volunteers, and donors to ensure our services are accessible, welcoming, and impactful. Whether a family needs clothing for their child, support during the holidays, or reliable meals throughout the week, Lift The Block is here to fill the gap with care, consistency, and love.
